San Ruffino

The delightful valley to the south-east of San Ruffino is the cradle of Etruria near Lari. It was here that, in 1860, the Etruscan necropolis was found, complete with objects which were donated to the Archaeological Museum of Livorno by Giuseppe Norci and where they can still be found today.
Just like their hard working Etruscan ancestors, today the people of San Ruffino lovingly cultivate these hills, watched over by the ancient village of San Ruffino, including Villa Norci, built by Giuseppe Norci based on a design from the engineer Bellincioni.
